Merthyr Tydfil

The county of Merthyr Tydfil in the south Wales valleys is an attractive location for your wedding. At the gateway to the Brecon Beacons National Park is the historic town of Merthyr Tydfil, itself, which has a range of hotels and wedding venues.

If you want to start your honeymoon in south Wales, Merthyr Tydfil is an ideal base for touring the area. There are plenty of heritage trails if you enjoy walking, including the long-distance Taff Trail. If the guests at your civil partnership ceremony want to make a weekend of it they could easily take off fishing, pony-trekking, sailing, windsurfing, cycling or playing golf.

A visit to the mock Gothic Cyfartha Castle, built in 1824 is also recommended by the locals.
