Band of Gold
Jeremy Huggett's Band of Gold is one of the youngest professional jazz and blues bands in the UK.
Formed in 1997, the Band has worked extensively throughout the UK and abroad, has recorded 6 CDs and appeared live on BBC radio, as well as at all the major jazz festivals including Bude, Birmingham, Keswick, Cork and the Old Duke Jazz Festival in Bristol. In May 2000, the Band launched BBC Music Live on BBC National Television.
Band of Gold is extremely versatile and appeals to audiences with all musical tastes playing a wide range of music including traditional and mainstream jazz, big band swing, latin jazz, dinner/lounge jazz, blues, rock & roll.
Leading the band is young virtuoso Jeremy Huggett. A recent UK Award Winner for Best Reed Player, Jeremy clearly demonstrates his skill and maturity on all the saxophones, flute, clarinet, vocals and piano -you've got to see their four-handed boogie!
Combine this musicianship with the rhythm section of Leeds College graduate, James Clemas on piano, the superb bass lines of Tony Mann and the driving, yet sympathetic, drumming of Brain Clarke, this is a band that is definitely not to be missed.
