Bishop Alistair Bate

I am a Bishop of the Independent Liberal Catholic Fellowship living in Edinburgh. I conduct weddings, hand-fastings and blessing ceremonies, mainly in Scotland, but I'm also willing to travel further afield. I have a wide range of resources and styles, so I'm sure that together we can devise a ceremony to suit your needs and wishes.

Some of the weddings I do are traditionally Christian, but more often than not people come to me for an alternative to the mainstream churches. I happily conduct full blooded Druid ceremonies as easily as more new age/spiritual or secular style services. I have even done a Buddhist/Shinto wedding with a slightly Celtic flavour, complete with Saki ceremony. That one was held in a whisky distillery on Islay!

Whatever the ceremony it is always a pleasure to share in a couple's happy day and I am proud to count among my personal friends many of those for whom I have officiated.
