Knowle Country House
The Knowle was built in the 1840s by the Rector of Higham, a friend of Charles Dickens, who was a frequent visitor. Set in 14 acres of orchards and old English gardens, the home of Lyn and Michael Baragwanath, who decided to turn their house into a restaurant in 1980 and still reside on the premises along with many of the original staff.
The Knowle offers a relaxed, unhurried and personal service in elegant surroundings where flexibility and style are major considerations. We avoid the pomp and ceremony associated with many country house restaurants, making it affordable to all.
