The wedding season

Other than Wimbledon, festivals and sunburn, British summertime is also wedding time. British weather, being unpredictable means the window of opportunity to get married in the sun is rather small. This has resulted in the vast majority of weddings taking place from May to August. So if you are between the ages of 25 and 35, this summer could be rather busy for you as friends and relatives try to make the most of the sunshine to tie the knot.

If you have more than one wedding to attend this summer season, you may be worried about the costs involved. Not only do you have to buy a wedding present, but you also need to get there, you could require accommodation and of course you must look the part.

Wherever possible, share transport with friends. Weddings usually bring together old friends and relatives, so by sharing a car or taxi, cost will be brought down and if you book a group taxi one person won't have to stay sober.

If you need to book accommodation because the wedding is not do-able in one day, then remember to book well in advance. Many weddings take place in the countryside, in small villages or country mansions and accommodation options in the vicinity will be few and far between. So, get your bed sorted as soon as the loved-up couple send out the invites. This is even more important if the occasion coincides with a public holiday, as all sorts of people will be heading into the countryside and snapping up the limited accommodation.

As far as clothing goes, although you may want to make a statement with your wedding outfit, if the dress and shoes are too bold and bright you probably won't be able to get away with wearing them twice in one wedding season. If the weddings are completely unlinked in any way then you can probably wangle it, but otherwise you need to think about a classic style in muted colours. The same goes for your shoes.

If you want to add a sparkle and something unique for each wedding, use accessories such as hats, jewellery and scarves.

This season is all about nudes and these shades are flattering and gracious without being too memorable. This enables you to get away with wearing them two or three times in as many weeks.

The same goes for shoes. Greens, beiges and browns will add length to your legs, you will look effortlessly glamorous and you can wear them again and again. New Look has a great range of inexpensive shoes perfect for wedding season on its website, including the latest styles and designs in the nude trend.
