Tythrop Park
Tythrop Park, one hour from London and 15 miles east of Oxford, is a Grade I listed Carolean country house built between 1660 and 1680 by the younger son of the 4th Earl of Pembroke and his wife, Jane Spiller, heiress of Tythrop.
The house has magnificent interiors and is set in beautiful gardens and surrounding parkland. King Charles II is reputed to have been a regular visitor.

The splendid Galleried Hall is now licensed for civil marriages for up to 126 guests. This elegant room is surrounded at first floor level by an early 18th century gallery and has an ornate ceiling decorated with original plasterwork by the well-known Morris family and later Rococo work by the Francini brothers.

Wedding receptions for between 20 and 250 guests, after civil partnership ceremonies, are elegantly and professionally catered in a marquee or in the attractive Throssel Room.
The lovely East-facing Garden Hall, with murals by James Smart depicting the history of Tythrop, is available for drinks before or after marriage ceremonies.
