Why advertise on this site?
Gay wedding ceremonies have started to take place across the UK, from December 2005. This is a great opportunity to maximise wedding bookings over the winter months and in the future.
We offer you a full page entry with three photos and your own web address (url). This makes it easier for search engines to find your venue or service by name and boosts your search engine ranking. You also get a link to your own website and email address. When people send you an email, you will know it came via this site, so you can monitor responses.
For every venue, we list key criteria such as maximum capacity and room hire costs. This makes it easier for visitors to the site to find out information about your venue quickly. It also means you don't have to send out loads of brochures! Visitors can also search using these criteria.
Venues and services can advertise in their own county and up to two others. You will get a primary listing in the county where you are based and links on the other county pages, to your entry on this site. When visitors search for venues by county, surrounding counties also come up, to give them a wider choice and help you to be seen by more potential customers.
If your wedding service doesn't have a separate section on the front page we may be able to add it. Please contact us about this.
Services can also opt for a national listing, which means they will appear at the top of their services page, linked from the home page.

The potential market for your business
Four out of five gay men and lesbians make a positive point of buying from a company that promotes itself as gay friendly. There are reports that 30-35% of venues refuse gay custom. Therefore it is important to find out which ones are gay friendly. By advertising on this site you will be showing gay men and lesbians that you care about their business.
The government estimates that 22,000 couples will sign the civil register by 2010. The majority will want to celebrate the occasion at a venue like yours.
Gay men and lesbians have a higher than average disposable income. For example, 57% of Pink Paper readers earn more than £30,000 a year. They are also web savvy – 87% of Gay Times readers have internet access. If you want a more detailed business case please contact us.
How this site is being marketed
The site is being promoted at gay events and venues throughout the year. We have already distributed 20,000 leaflets at Pride events and to gay venues across the UK. The site is linked to over 50 websites and has been advertised in the Pink Press - G3, Diva magazine, Gay Times and the Pink Paper.
We have also won a grant from Hackney Enterprise Network for several thousand pounds, which has to be spent on advertising and web development. This was decided by a panel, including senior members of two high street banks. In November, we won the Mayor's Enterprise Award for the best start-up business in Hackney.
On 5 December, we appeared on the lunchtime news on ITV and Channel Four and on the ITV 24 hour news programme. We also took part in a Radio Five Live phone-in. Articles about us have appeared in The Times, The Evening Standard, The Independent on Sunday, Time Out, Bloomberg News, G3, Hotel Magazine, Catering in Scotland and a wide range of regional newspapers.
We were also interviewed for the Independent Radio Network, which supplies stories to commercial radio stations across the country reaching 26 million listeners.

How much does it cost?
Annual subscription of £95 plus VAT for venues or £50 plus VAT for wedding services. A bulk discount for five or more venues in a hotel chain is available at £80 plus VAT per venue.
Gay friendly wedding services can advertise in three counties for £50 plus VAT or can have a national listing for £80 plus VAT - this would appear at the top of the specific service page.
If you are opting for the £50 rate, please mention which two extra counties you would like to be listed under in the description of your service. This will not be counted in your word count.

Don't forget to add VAT - prices for venues are: £95 plus VAT = £111.62, bulk discount: £80 plus VAT = £94; for services in up to three counties: £50 plus VAT = £58.75 or national listing: £80 plus VAT = £94.
